Myrtle Beach Cheap Eats Spot #5: Tu Taco

If you’re looking for an affordable lunch in the Myrtle Beach area that still feels like a full meal, Tu Taco deserves a spot on your list.

For Spot #5 in my Myrtle Beach Cheap Eats Series, I stopped by Tu Taco to check out their 3 Taco Lunch Special for $11.95 and this is exactly the kind of deal I love finding for this series.

For under $12, you get three tacos, a side, and a drink, which is becoming harder and harder to find these days.

Tu Taco is known for its San Diego-style Mexican food, and one of the best parts is being able to mix things up. We tried a variety of tacos including Al Pastor, steak, shrimp, and chicken & cheese, along with plenty of fresh toppings like chopped onions, cilantro, radishes, lime, shredded cheese, and flavorful sauces.

The Al Pastor was loaded with seasoned pork, onions, cilantro, and pieces of pineapple for that sweet-and-savory combination. The steak taco was simple and packed with flavor, while the shrimp taco had more of a loaded, California-style feel with cabbage, cheese, and creamy sauce.

And of course, you can’t forget the extras.

We had chips, salsa, guacamole, rice, several different sauces, and a refreshing tamarind agua fresca to go along with everything.

What I like most about Tu Taco is that you can keep your meal simple and inexpensive or add a few extras and turn it into a full-on taco spread.

But if you’re specifically hunting for a bargain, that $11.95 three-taco lunch special is the star of the show.
