If you think eating seafood in Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach automatically means spending $25, $30, or more on an entrée, Cape Fear Seafood Company might surprise you.

For Spot #4 in my Myrtle Beach Cheap Eats Series, I wanted to highlight a place where you can still sit down, enjoy a seafood-focused meal, and keep your entrée under $15.

Cape Fear Seafood Company’s lunch specials menu features eight dishes priced under $15, and the best part is that most of them are seafood options.

That alone makes this one worth knowing about if you’re searching for an affordable seafood lunch in Myrtle Beach.

Eight Lunch Specials Under $15

The lunch menu includes:

  • Fish-N-Chips Basket – $12.99
  • Smoked Salmon Alfredo – $12.99
  • Shrimp Diablo – $14.99
  • Soup & Salad Combo – $10.99
  • Cape Fear Shrimp & Grits – $14.99
  • Shrimp Scampi – $12.99
  • Jambalaya – $13.99
  • Shrimp Risotto – $12.99

That’s a pretty impressive lineup when you consider how many of those choices feature shrimp, fish, salmon, scallops, or other seafood.

The Cape Fear Shrimp & Grits

I went with the Cape Fear Shrimp & Grits for $14.99, and this is exactly the kind of dish I love finding for the Cheap Eats series.

The dish combines shrimp with applewood smoked bacon, tomatoes, scallions, mushrooms, a Low Country cream sauce, and stone-ground cheese grits.

It’s rich, filling, and definitely doesn’t feel like you’re ordering from a bargain menu.

They Use Locally Caught Shrimp

Another reason Cape Fear Seafood Company stood out to me is that they use locally caught shrimp.

Along the Grand Strand, that isn’t something you can automatically assume just because you’re ordering seafood near the coast. Cape Fear Seafood Company is one of the restaurants making an effort to serve local shrimp, which makes finding a shrimp entrée for under $15 even more noteworthy.

For me, that adds a little extra value to the meal because you’re not only getting an affordable seafood lunch you’re also supporting seafood sourced closer to home.

Don’t Skip Happy Hour

And if you aren’t ready to leave after lunch, make sure you check out their Happy Hour menu too.

Cape Fear Seafood Company has a patio area that makes a great spot to hang out with a cocktail, glass of wine, or beer, especially when the weather is nice.

So you could easily turn an inexpensive lunch into a laid-back Myrtle Beach afternoon without feeling like you need to go somewhere else.

A colorful menu displaying lunch specials, brunch options, happy hour deals, and side beverages. The lunch specials feature various seafood dishes, pasta, and a soup and salad combo. The brunch menu includes crab cake benedict, lump crab frittata, and chicken & waffles. Happy hour highlights include house wines, local draft beers, and signature cocktails.

Is Cape Fear Seafood Company Worth It for a Cheap Lunch?

For seafood lovers, I think this is one of the more interesting finds in my Myrtle Beach Cheap Eats Series so far.

You have eight lunch dishes under $15, several seafood choices, locally caught shrimp, and a full-service restaurant atmosphere rather than a typical quick-service cheap eats.

If you’ve been trying to find affordable seafood in Myrtle Beach, add Cape Fear Seafood Company to your lunch list.

And now I want to know: Would you order the $14.99 Shrimp & Grits, or are you going for one of the other seafood specials?
