If you love discovering small local food spots with big flavor, Juju’s Hot Dawgs in Conway, South Carolina deserves a spot on your list.
Ryan had already visited once before and couldn’t wait to take me, which is usually a pretty good sign. He had talked these hot dogs up enough that I already knew I needed to see what all the fuss was about.
For my first visit, I decided to go all in and order the Juju’s Jamin Dawg.
This hot dog comes loaded with bacon jam, chili, cheese and stone-ground mustard, and when I first saw everything piled on top, I had a brief moment where I wondered if there might be a little too much going on.
But I really wanted to try it the way the owner envisioned it before making any changes.
And I am so glad I did.
The first bite completely surprised me.

The bacon jam adds a slightly sweet, smoky flavor, the chili brings that hearty comfort-food element, the cheese pulls everything together, and the stone-ground mustard adds just enough tang to balance it all out.
Somehow, every ingredient works together.
My taste buds were hooked.
It is definitely one of those combinations that sounds a little wild on paper but makes complete sense once you taste it.

Ryan went with two of his favorites: the Chili & Onion Dawg and the Kraut Dawg.
Since this was already his second visit, I think that says plenty about how much he enjoyed Juju’s the first time around. He had been looking forward to taking me back, and now I completely understand why.

What I love most about finding places like this is getting to support a small local business while also trying something you probably won’t find at a typical chain restaurant. Juju’s Hot Dawgs has personality, creative combinations, and the kind of food that makes you want to tell someone else about it.
If you’re in or around Conway, SC, keep an eye out for Juju’s Hot Dawgs and give them a try.
And now I have to ask:
Would you try the Juju’s Jamin Dawg with bacon jam, chili, cheese and stone-ground mustard?
I was skeptical for about five seconds… and then I was completely sold. 🌭
