Looking for a delicious smashburger in the Myrtle Beach area? Project Smashburger is a local food truck worth keeping on your radar!
Sometimes the best Friday night dinner plans are the ones you don’t have to make! When we found out that Project Smashburger was serving up their delicious smashburgers nearby in the Waterbridge community of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, we knew exactly what we were having for dinner.
There’s something about supporting a locally owned food truck, especially when it’s conveniently parked right in your neighborhood. No reservations, no cooking, and best of all, no dishes!

Meet Project Smashburger
Project Smashburger is a Conway, South Carolina-based food truck specializing in made-to-order smashburgers with crispy, caramelized edges, melted cheese, and flavorful toppings.
If you’ve never experienced a true smashburger, you’re missing out! Unlike a traditional thick hamburger patty, a smashburger is pressed onto a hot griddle, creating those deliciously crispy edges while keeping the meat juicy and flavorful.
And that’s exactly the kind of burger we were craving!

What We Ordered at Project Smashburger
The Oklahoma Smashburger – $11
I decided to try The Oklahoma, and it certainly didn’t disappoint!
This burger comes with two smashed beef patties, thinly sliced onions pressed directly into the meat while cooking, two slices of American cheese, mustard, and pickles.
The result? A delicious combination of crispy beef, sweet grilled onions, melted cheese, and just the right amount of tanginess from the mustard and pickles.
Those crispy edges paired with the soft bun made every bite especially satisfying.
If you’re someone who loves onions on your burger, this one deserves a spot on your must-try list!
Crispy Tater Tots with Homemade Ranch – $4
Of course, no burger night is complete without a side!
We decided to switch things up and order the tater tots instead of traditional fries.
Golden, crispy, and perfect for dipping, these tots were an excellent addition to our smashburger dinner.
But the real bonus? Project Smashburger’s homemade ranch dressing!
I’m always a fan of a restaurant or food truck that goes the extra mile with house-made sauces, and their ranch was a delicious pairing with those crispy tots.
The tots were $4, with homemade ranch available for an additional $0.50.

What’s on the Project Smashburger Menu?
One thing I appreciate about Project Smashburger is its straightforward menu. They focus on doing a few things well, while still giving customers plenty of ways to customize their burgers.
Their signature smashburgers include:
- The Original – $11: Two smashed patties with American cheese, grilled onions, pickles, and special sauce.
- The Back Home – $11: Two smashed patties topped with pimento cheese, grilled onions, house-pickled jalapeños, and special sauce.
- The Oklahoma – $11: Two smashed patties with thinly sliced onions pressed into the beef, American cheese, mustard, and pickles.
- Build Your Own – Starting at $9: Customize your smashburger with your favorite toppings and add-ons.
They also offer fries, tots, grilled cheese for the kids, and beverages.
Menu prices reflect what was posted during our visit and are subject to change.
