Creative Experience

This weekend, I had the sweetest time at a cake decorating class hosted by Cake Creations by Brusane at The Venue in Myrtle Beach, SC! If you’ve ever wanted to learn the art of cake decorating—or just love a hands-on, creative experience—this class was an absolute treat.

Learning from a Pro

Brusane, the talented cake artist behind Cake Creations by Brusane, guided us through the process of turning a simple cake into a beautifully decorated masterpiece. She introduced us to essential cake decorating tools, from piping bags and tips to spatulas and scrapers, explaining how each one helps create those professional-looking details.

Decorating Our Cakes

Each of us received a 6-inch cake to decorate, and the theme was perfect for spring! We covered our cakes in a gorgeous Spring Green icing and then added delicate pink rose details. Brusane demonstrated how to pipe buttercream shells with ease (though mine may have looked more like a mash up of shells at first—practice makes perfect, right?). She also shared tips on smoothing icing, achieving even layers, and adding decorative touches that make a cake truly stand out.

A Fun and Delicious Experience

What made the class even better was the relaxed, supportive atmosphere. Whether you were a beginner or had some experience with cake decorating, Brusane made sure everyone felt comfortable and confident. Plus, getting to take home our beautifully decorated cakes was the icing on top—literally!

If you’re looking for a fun, creative activity in Myrtle Beach, I highly recommend checking out a class with Cake Creations by Brusane. It’s a fantastic way to learn new skills, meet fellow cake lovers, and, of course, enjoy some delicious cake at the end!

Would you ever take a cake decorating class? Let me know in the comments! And if you’ve been to one before, what was your favorite part?

    1. Thank you so much! It tasted great! Brusane uses a Swiss Meringue Icing so it’s not sickening sweet like a traditional buttercream and the cake tasted great. The perfect pairing!
